Heuristics and Think-aloud Method for Evaluating the Usability of Game-based Language Learning

Digital learning environments are increasingly becoming popular in recent years. The rising usage of cell phones has invited researchers to design and develop applications games for mobile phones. Specifically, game-based language is being promoted by many parts the world. “Language Learning Serious Game (LLSG)” based on a theoretical model constructed researcher that supports children English as second cultural context. usability such evaluated well-defined heuristics other standard methods. This research aims appraise LLSG through think-aloud approaches while involving all essential stakeholders, including experts, students, teachers, game developers. proposed context, whereas review compiled from rigorous discussion session these stakeholders evaluate LLSG. findings obtained evaluation reveal acceptable. On hand, various interesting suggestions reviews were gathered between experts students. will further improve future versions game.
